The Creative Opportunity vs. The Production Challenge (Factual)
12th - 14th March 2010 (Friday evening only)
An intensive weekend course for professionals who work in or around factual TV and who want to develop their creative understanding and skills in multiplatform programming. The course covers key aspects of multiplatform development, production and delivery. Includes: broadcaster multiplatform commissioning requirements; multiplatform development techniques; production planning; collaborative working across platforms; how to successfully pitch a multiplatform concept.
Course speakers include:
• John Kent - Senior Producer, BBC Multiplatform Productions
• Lucy Willis - Executive Producer, Raw TV
• Marc Goodchild - Head of Interactive and On-Demand for BBC Children's
• Dominic Mason – Director, AtomFire Productions
• Dan Biddle - Development Producer, BBC Vision Multiplatform Products
The course is included on the Skillset TV Freelance Fund’s list of eligible multiplatform courses so participants may be eligible to receive funding of 80% of the costs up to £800 through Skillset’s Multiplatform Bursary Scheme. Associated travel and accommodation costs are also eligible expenses. Please note bursary funds are limited so an early application is recommended. The course is run by experienced training providers Lighthouse and digital media experts Wired Sussex and is based in central Brighton, easily accessible from London and other parts of the country by train or Gatwick airport.
