The 2011 Shepton Digital Arts Festival has announced its programme, workshop highlights include:
 
An Evening with Aardman: October 6th, 7- 9pm
.

Bristol’s Aardman Animation and its many successes and glittering prizes needs no introduction. Come and meet two of the studio’s top men and learn about their work. Model-maker Jim Parkyn leads the first discussion with creative director and animator Merlin Crossingham adding his own insight later in the evening.
 
In Conversation – How To Market Your Short Film with Jayne Chard.  October 6th  6-7pm. Bafta award winning director Jayne Chard and industry colleagues, including Liz Harkman, MD of Encounter Bristol International Film Festival, discuss getting your film project off the ground and into the public arena. A must for all aspiring film-makers out there.
 
The Art of Natural History Film-Making with Paul Appleby. Oct 7th 7.30-9pm. Natural History film-making has been one of the West Country’s great success stories and few people have more experience in the field than Paul Appleby, who spent 20 years as a series producer with the BBC’s Natural History Unit in Bristol before founding his own company. Paul will let his audience into the secrets of this specialised art and illustrate his talk with some spectacular footage.

The Shepton Digi Fest gives people the opportunity to learn new skills from leading practitioners of film, TV, animation and digital art/photography.   With a vibrant digital creative industry in Somerset, Bath and Bristol, the opportunity for people to work in this industry has never been better.
 
Central to the festival is its showcase competitions, which this year will be judged by an impressive line up of judges, including David Sproxton, co-founder and Executive Chairman of Aardman, and the founder of Icon Films, Laura Marshall. Click here for more information
