Event overview:

Fringe 2012 Stirrings in the undergrowth! Open Meeting. Andy Hamilton. New film & photos. Bath Fringe 2012 will run from Friday May 25 to Sunday June 10 (with the usual latitude on a few days either way) We’ve been having exciting discussions with everyone from Bath College to the Freemasons, and we’re happy to announce that Fringe 2012 is merrily steaming ahead with a good selection of old and new events.

If you want to put a show into Fringe 2012, our first Open Meeting is on Monday December 5th at 6pm at Chapel Arts, Lower Borough Walls, Bath BA1 1QR. At this meeting we can talk about • What you need to do to put on your show in Fringe 2012 • How we can help • What collective and larger events you might be able to join in with • What else we know about what is happening so far • Who we are • Why? The actual programme details process won’t be in action until sometime in the New Year, and we’ll have another meeting then, but it’s good to get going while the ideas are fresh.

This is also a good meeting to come to if you’ve got an idea that you’d like to develop: sometimes, for example, you can meet another group who are thinking of something that will work well together, and the combination is stronger and more likely to happen. Or we may be able to suggest useful directions for development

This is not a FAB Visual Arts Open Meeting, they have a different process and a different group (though their dates are the same). For details on what they’re up to, look at www.fringeartsbath.co.uk. First Fringe Gig for 2012: Andy Hamilton Fresh from bothering Satan (again) on telly, Andy will be bringing his barbed satire and politics (he’s a regular on both ‘The News Quiz’ and ‘Have I got News for You’) to Komedia on Sunday May 27th. Tickets from Komedia or Bath Box Office. But they’re not there yet. We’ll tell you when they are. More Moving Pictures There’s a neat little film of Fringe 2011’s outdoor events (Cacahuète and bedlam fair) by Bath College student Simon Burdall. It’s at http://youtu.be/7ZIF0atQ3TQ There are some great pictures of other Fringe shows (and even more of Cacahuète) by our pal Mostyn, recently posted on Flickr.
