Event overview:
With the launch of the first Apple Macintosh computers in the early 1980’s personal computing was given hardware and software that worked ‘for the rest of us’ who didn’t possess a degree in computer science. In the 1990’s we saw the proliferation of Mac User Groups. Set up by and for Users of this revolutionary new device they were very popular.
In those heady days of the early 90‘s Bath based graphic designer Lee Edwards led a very popular Bath & Bristol User Group whose meetings were based at AppleCentre Bristol.
Now we are back as the Bath MacUser Network (BMN). Social Networking is increasingly seen as vital to the health and profitability of the local creative community. Organisations like Creative Bath are thriving. BMN will compliment these activities with the focus on the tool, and its software, that is central to most of our working lives.
We have chosen Farpoint Developments Ltd, our local friendly Apple Dealer, as our hosts for our monthly meetings. Their showroom on Walcot Street is the perfect backdrop with access to all the latest hardware (like the up-coming iPad) and software (Adobe Creative Suite 5 is due to launch in this April). It will also give us access to the powerhouse of knowledge and creative solutions that Farpoint is famous for. In addition we aim to have guests from Apple Adobe and other key players in the industry.
