Event overview:

Saskia Wickins will be exhibiting at the Black Swan gallery (Round Tower gallery) in Frome for the duration of the Frome festival, along side the renowned illustrator Ralph Steadman.

Coming from a textile design course Saskia has found it an exciting challenge fighting for what she believes can be called textiles. Saskia work on a smaller scale than most and use a variety of paper, fabric bits and bobs to create thoughtful installation pieces.

Saskia will be graduating from Bath spa University this summer. This will be her second solo exhibition following an installation in the Bath spa gallery space back in 2009.

Something surviving looks at the everyday existence within a personal environment.

The cress is used to represent endurance presenting nature as the strongest force

The scale of the piece is a reflection on how everyday occurrences can be forgotten.
