Stitch Textile Artists, a highly professional and dedicated group, was founded in 1999 coming together under the guidance of international textile artist and tutor, Siân Martin.
The group meets three times a year at Urchfont Manor to nurture individual styles while being challenged to push boundaries and evolve as textile artists.
Primarily a master class/study group we exhibit together only every three or four years.
In Face to Face a wide range of media techniques and interests is demonstrated in wall hangings, panels, sculptured structures, fashion/accessories etc.
The human face may be revealed or partially disguised. The many facets of everyday items, reflections, memories, individual features juxtapose and invite the viewer to contemplate the ideas and feelings that lie beneath.
Come and Meet the Artists day is on Saturday 21st August from 11am until 4pm. All welcome.
Exhibition runs from 17th – 29th August 2010 from 11am - 4pm including Sundays .
