Cultural Forum Launches Search for Christmas Performers
Christmas Market - Performance Opportunities
Bath Tourism Plus, which runs the Christmas Market (this year running from 24 November - 11 December) is keen to encourage more performances around the Market to add to the seasonal atmosphere and entertain the many thousands of visitors. There are three licensed areas, the largest one in front of the Abbey, the other two smaller areas marked with blue star on this map.
There are some limited funds available to support and develop these performances and as importantly to co-ordinate this programme and work with Bath Tourism Plus on delivery. There is also, depending on the response, the opportunity for linked entertainment in Southgate to be supported by the Business Improvement District.
The Cultural Forum for the Bath Area (CFBA - www.cfba.org.uk) would like to hear anyone who has any interest in a) providing performances themselves and/or b) co-ordinating and programming. The latter might just be for a limited time, say a day of linked events, or for the whole period. The performance opportunities are open to all, not just CFBA members, so you might want to include groups and artists you work with outside the area.
Please do think imaginatively and ambitiously - this is a marvellous opportunity to put your work in front of many thousands of people, many of them new to Bath.
