Student Speed-Networking - Last Night

It was good to see so many local companies come along to River Cottage Canteen last night to talk to students about working in the creative industries.

This was our first speed-networking event focused on bringing education and industry together, and 25 students from the universities of Bath and Bath Spa (who kindly sponsored the event) turned out to meet with companies from across the sector. Professionals working in TV production, marketing, design, journalism, PR and the performing and visual arts gave each student 4 minutes of their undivided attention, with many continuing to chat after the speed-networking part of the evening was over. The students all left clutching an enviable collection of contacts and cards, and at least one had an appointment to come back to see a potential employer for a more formal interview at a later date. Fingers crossed!
