Creative Bath Needs Your Views on the River

It is often said that, except near Pulteney Bridge, Bath turns its back on the river. This could be about to change:

·         New housing development is planned on the Bath Western Riverside site;
·         The Council is working on further regeneration plans for the river corridor;
·         Bath Rugby wants a larger stadium either at the Recreation Ground or at another site close to the centre of the city;
·         There are suggestions for new leisure activities on the river and the riverside;
·         Renewed interest is being shown in hydro-electric schemes.

These developments could be hugely positive for a neglected area of Bath, but they would need to be managed sensitively, with full account taken of flood risk issues; protection and enhancement of the ecology; and respect for the World Heritage Site.

The Better Bath Forum has discussed these issues and now wants YOUR views on how the creative sector envisages and might contribute to the future of the river in Bath.
