Overview
FAB is Bath’s only annual visual arts festival and we are looking for artists to submit work to the shows in this call out.
We actively promote and celebrate contemporary art in the Bath area and beyond, showcasing early career artists and curators, and those who find it difficult to break into (or prefer to operate outside of) the gallery based art scene. FAB frequently uses “alternative”, temporary exhibition spaces - anything from street corners, shops and shopping centres to front rooms and cafés. This year we are very proud to say we will be running our new bi-annual art prize: ‘The FAB Open’ a new open competition and exhibition inviting
work from artists practising contemporary art in the fields of painting, print, drawing, photography, film, sound, sculpture, installation, and performance. We are a not for profit organisation and receive little funding, relying on
enthusiastic volunteers to enable us to put on each year’s programme of shows and events.
How to apply
Read the requirements in each call out.
It is free to submit proposals, if you are selected then there will be a £10 administration charge per artist (this charge does not apply to events 1, 3, 10, 11, 12); this will go towards publicity and other costs incurred during the festival. FAB is a voluntary, not for profit organisation, and a company limited by guarantee. Email images as jpeg, text as Word or PDF files. Submissions by post must include a SAE if you would like your work returned.

This exhibition is an attempt to address climate change through creative, nonenvironmentally damaging, mediums.

7 LOST PROPERTIES
The objects we possess embody our life experience, culture, ideas and opinions; eventually becoming inconspicuous components of who we are and how we live. Once assimilated, we rarely reassess the meaning of these objects. We welcome proposals that reveal the inherent qualities in objects, ordinarily taken for granted or revered. Proposals for works in a variety of media: performance, film, 2D and 3D are invited.

We welcome proposals for works that consider the (human) body as both a producer and receiver of sound, and its relationship to other sounding bodies in space. In addition to installed material or performances, we are also interesting in proposals that draw on internet or broadcast technologies;
however, all artists will be expected to provide their own materials and
equipment.
