As Hurricane continue our move from Production Company to video first marketing agency we have an exciting new position.

As Development Producer, you’ll occupy a hybrid role combining creative development with business development.   You’ll lead the response to new business enquiries as they arrive; working alongside our creative and planning departments to develop video ideas, visuals, scripts and concepts.   You will also be a key part of the client services process, working with the CSD and creative teams to develop new ideas and campaigns to take to clients

We are looking for a true ideas person that totally understands video and that can bring client briefs to life.  Working alongside a talented bunch of creatives, content producers and strategists you will be developing ideas with big ambitions.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in dissecting and responding to client briefs as well as a clear sense of storytelling and narrative.  They will be able to confidently work up compelling ideas, narratives and treatments that not only appeal to the client but also meet their brand objectives. Key to the role is an understanding of video marketing techniques, from planning to media buying. 

The role will consist of two main areas of responsibility, the development of new video concepts and building clients with the CSD


The role includes:

  • Leading the response to new business enquiries as they arrive, ensuring that leads are responded to in a timely manner

  • Developing intial concepts, scripts and visual briefs as well as communicating these to the creative teams

  • Creation of content proposals and pitch docs

  • Supporting the planning team on new projects that require strategy

  • Developing initial scripts for new projects

  • Background research and insight development

  • Supporting CSD, MD and CD with pitch work

  • Brief taking and building

  • Regularly updating and managing CRM activity to provide visibility of sales pipeline

  • Maintaining effective working relationships with both clients and colleagues

  • Considering and developing a range of proactive ideas with which to present to existing clients


Person Specification

A minimum of five years previous experience in an agency environment – ideally working on video marketing campaigns, video production or animation.

A creative / ideas focused thinker

Strong analytical, presentation (written & verbal) & organisational skills

An understanding of content marketing and distribution

Some higher level education; degree level ideally, although not essential

A keen eye for detail with the ability to calmly manage multiple projects/campaigns at any one point.

A natural curiosity and a willingness to learn

A clear understanding of the video production process.  

Confident communication skills,

Resilient ‘can do’ attitude are a must for a client facing role such as this.
