A Bath Spa University Public Lecture with Professor Sue Rigby, Vice-Chancellor, Bath Spa University

In a world of Google and open learning, what’s a University for? What’s special about learning from academics? And, is it really worth the money? Join Sue Rigby as she unpacks this controversial debate through the (perhaps) biased perspective of a University Vice Chancellor and explores how, with the rise of fake news and data-mining, we might need a University more than ever.

Sue Rigby trained as a palaeontologist at Oxford and Cambridge. After a successful career as an academic in the Universities of Leicester and Edinburgh, she moved into senior management, as Vice Principal for learning and teaching at Edinburgh, and Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Lincoln. She has been Vice-Chancellor at Bath Spa University since January 2018.
