A growing digital marketing agency in bath is looking for its first Finance Director - having seen fast growth over the past four years, a Finance Director is required to steer their ambitious future growth plans. This role sits within the SMT and needs someone who’s can drive a solid finance strategy forward, as well supporting the day-to-day finance operation.

Put simply, we’re looking for someone who’s energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.

This role is part time, c. 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving the finance strategy for the agency
  • Ownership of budgeting and forecasting
  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • In-depth financial reporting and analysis for presentation in board meetings
  • Managing the year-end and statutory auditing process, including Corporation Tax
  • Managing VAT returns and other HMRC processes
  • Managing and advising the agency’s EMI share schemes
  • Management and execution of payroll (including HMRC/PAYE and company benefits), pensions, insurance, bad debt, cashflow, accounts payable and receivable, and banking
  • Building relationships with media owners (i.e. Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Microsoft etc.) in order to support monthly invoicing
  • Maintaining a fixed asset register
  • Provide proactive recommendation and support around acquisitions and investments
  • Review client contracts
  • Manage incoming and outgoing sales commissions
  • Shared management of the Office Manager (finance functions only)
  • Building futureproof financial processes to drive efficiency, compliance and security
  • Overall responsibility of the agency’s finance function

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified member of an accounting body, or holder of a similar qualification
  • Commercially-focussed with excellent stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience of Xero and Sage is beneficial
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills

Experience of working within an agency would be beneficial, but not essential
