The role is also responsible for creating and implementing an effective marketing and sales plan for achieving the targeted amount of awards entries, plus measuring and improving the effectiveness of each scheme.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing FoodBev Media’s marketing department and line-managing marketing team members.

The role is also responsible for creating and implementing an effective marketing and sales plan for achieving the targeted amount of awards entries, plus measuring and improving the effectiveness of each scheme.

The Marketing Manager will also hold responsibility for managing partnership agreements for all events and associations that FoodBev Media wants to partner with, to ensure we increase our reach in the relevant markets, as well as well as forming strategic partnerships with potential awards judges.

Other responsibilities will include enhancing the FoodBev brand, overseeing the social media and data/subscriptions efforts and representing the marketing team at management meetings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Awards

  • To ensure the awards revenue targets are met and exceeded.
  • To create an effective marketing communication plan for awards.
  • To recruit judges and brand ambassadors for each scheme.
  • To help the awards executives create strong sales pipelines.
  • To review each awards scheme as per target, to increase performance for the next awards scheme.
  • To manage all awards marketing campaigns both print and digitally, including email communication, management of website and print material.
  • To ensure the pre and post campaign procedures are completed.
  • To create awards campaign landing pages and announcements via WordPress.

Subscriptions marketing and data

  • To create the marketing and communication plans for subscriptions implemented by the Subscriptions Marketing Executive and Social Media and Campaigns Executive.
  • To oversee subscriptions campaigns and sales pipelines progress of the Subscriptions Marketing Executive and Social Media and Campaigns Executive.
  • To assist the Subscriptions Marketing Executive and Social Media and Campaigns Executive in ensuring the subscriptions revenue targets are met and exceeded.
  • To assist the Subscriptions Marketing Executive in ensuring all data is kept clean and compliant with the most recent data regulations.

Strategic partnerships

  • To create and manage all FoodBev Media event, awards and subscription partnership agreements so that they are beneficial for both parties.
  • Source relevant contras and administer all elements via CRM and flatplan.
  • Upload event listings to the online calendar.

General brand marketing and managerial

  • To monitor, promote and enhance FoodBev branding, with attention to SEO and growing the online presence.
  • To oversee current offerings and come up with initiatives for products and other services.
  • To represent FoodBev marketing interests at management meetings.
  • To effectively manage, train and provide direction to the Social Media and Campaigns Executive, Subscriptions Marketing Executive and Awards Marketing Executive.

CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience of social media strategy and PPC
  • An understanding of SEO best practice for WordPress
  • Experience of analytics programmes such as Google Analytics and how to interpret data to inform marketing strategy
  • Email marketing and automation experience, preferably with Adestra
  • Copywriting and proofreading proficiency
  • Ability to forge successful internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work at a tactical and strategic level to manage sales pipelines and create communication plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability and aspirations to manage a small team
  • Experience in tracking response rates and CRO
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent negotiating skills

  • Proactivity and initiative
  • Clear understanding of the role of marketing strategy and media channels

Desirable

  • Membership of a professional body such as the CIM
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field

  • Salary of £25,000 - £28,000 per annum dependent on experience
