Network N are looking for an Business Development Manager to join their rapidly expanding games media business based in Bath.

Network N is looking for a customer-centric Business Development Manager to join our rapidly growing team in central Bath Spa to help us further grow our, already massive, network of gaming sites.

In this role you’ll report directly to the Network Director and will work with both a predefined pipeline as well as identifying leads and creating marketing and communication strategies to generate more interest in our network.

We are a best in market solution and have an ethical and straightforward approach to working with our partners.  Site retention within the network is over 95% so this isn’t a hard sell.

As the Business Development Manager you will be researching and identifying potential partners that fit with the demographic and beliefs of our company and negotiating directly with the business owners to bring them into the network.

Working with the Network Director and Network Operations Manager you will develop your business development skills further to not only identify and engage with these sites but also to build business projections and create bespoke contracts for each relationship.  As well as this you will work with the business owners to deepen their relationship with the network.

There is an element of community management within this role and you will be expected to research understand and participate in the communities that we engage with on a daily basis. If you already post about games on Reddit or NeoGaf then you are halfway there.

 

You need to be outgoing, self motivated and interested in audience development and digital marketing and a love of games would help.

 

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Pitching and negotiating with sites to join our network

  • Managing the relationships with existing partners and helping grow their revenue potential

  • Researching and identifying new sites that fit with our network and pitching them as new partners

  • Creating realistic and honest financial projections and proposals for those new partners that will allow them see how much they might earn with our network

  • Negotiating with partners on different structures of deals that best service both our needs

  • Drafting and amending specific contracts for each deal

  • Working with Trade Marketing to come up with strategies to help deliver more properly qualified leads for you

  • Be a brand advocate for the network and be super active on all the correct platforms

  • Creating a process that can be used to train the new team that will be built around you

  • Check earnings reports for current partners and send to them answering any queries that they might have

 

Your experience, you must have;

  • Worked in a previous business development role

  • Be confident in dealing with business owners in respectful and open way

  • Experience in understanding and analysing commercial priorities and business needs

  • Be financially literate and able to draft a basic business budget and financial projections

  • Understand the digital advertising market (you might have come from and ad sales background)

  • Worked in a client-facing position

  • Be able to close deals

  • Marketing experience and be confident with content marketing and lead generation

Your experience, it would be great if you have;

  • Worked in a startup

  • Run your own blog or website

  • Online Media experience

  • Games industry experience

  • Previous B2B marketing or blogging experience

The right candidate will be;

  • An excellent communicator with superb interpersonal skills

  • An excellent problem-solver with an ability to see through to a resolution

  • Able to communicate effectively both in person and in writing – able to simplify the apparently complex

  • Able to adapt and align work to changing requirements and priorities

  • Knowledgeable – with a good technical understanding of Internet and Web fundamentals

  • Able to create and evaluate accurate business projections for Network Partners

  • Analytical – Able to create and understand financial models and make data-driven decisions

Reports to: Network Director

 

Location: Bath

Employment Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Full Time (Mon - Fri 09.30 to 17.30)
